Upcoming Events

Join us on our vinous journey as we sample great wines from around the world including getting up close and personal with some of our favourite growers. We hope to get our physical events up and running again after lockdown ends but in the meantime we have a roster of different #WineTherapy online tastings scheduled, from “Meet the Grower” evenings, to “Around the World in 48 Wines” sessions, to Premier Crew BYOs with special guests - and more!

In normal times our events are super popular and we think their virtual counterparts will be just as entertaining, so please do join us. And if you’d like us to organise a private or corporate event online do let us know.

Wine Therapy: Around the World in 48 Wines
8: The Newest "Old World" region - South Africa

In Session 8 we leave the Old World fully for the first time and highlight South Africa. In its early days, the wines were responsible for filling our supermarket trolley with cheap and cheerful wines. However, it is a country with a venerable wine heritage and an evolution in winemaking is giving rise to wines that challenge, stylistically an qualitatively, the best of the Old World – and beats all but a rare few on price.

Ticket price includes the three bottles, joining instructions and Zoom meeting link (this will be emailed prior to the event) and the subsequent 1-hr YouTube recording.

Wine Therapy: Around the World in 48 Wines
9: Crikey! - Terroir in Australia

For many of us Australia has been go to wine for fruit and oak rich BBQ wines, when we need to keep the thirsty crowds fed and watered on a budget. However the last two decades have seen a revolution as a new generation of winemakers explore texture, purity and nuance rather than simplistic jammy fruit bombs and custardy whites. This session concentrates on artisan growers and up and coming regions that we feel better represent Australia’s exciting modern winescape.

Ticket price includes the three bottles, joining instructions and Zoom meeting link (this will be emailed prior to the event) and the subsequent 1-hr YouTube recording.

Wine Therapy: Around the World in 48 Wines
10: Affordable Bordeaux

“Is there such a thing as good drinking Bordeaux wine that doesn’t cost the earth”? They do exist - but require a good palate, a good knowledge of the region and some good financial acumen, luckily we have all three here at Honest Grapes. Not only will we delve into the lesser known regions of Bordeaux but will also, in the short space of an hour, cover not only the classic red Bordeaux but white and sweet Bordeaux, better known of course as Sauternes.

Ticket price includes the three bottles, joining instructions and Zoom meeting link (this will be emailed prior to the event) and the subsequent 1-hr YouTube recording.

Wine Therapy: Meet the Grower
Exton Park & Frerejean Frères

The Honest Grapes wine gurus are never content to sit on their laurels even during this period of uncertainty, and we have decided that for our next grower event we shall give you 2 growers for the price of 1! AND we have a fantastic prize for one lucky attendee (and a guest) and a special charitable initiative for Hospitality Action (click on for details).

Two fantastic artisanal producers will present their amazing wines for you to compare and contrast the results of similar grapes, soil types and wine making techniques. Joining us will be Corinne Seely from the English sparkling estate Exton Park and alongside her, Rodolphe Frerejean-Taittinger from Champagne house Frerejean Frères.

Ticket price includes the wines, joining instructions and Zoom meeting link (this will be emailed prior to the event).

11: Grape Expectations - Whites

Following on from our Grape Expectations Red, it was only right to also shine the light on the unknown and sometimes misunderstood white grapes. So once again we have dug through the cellar to select a lineup of 3 great wines that might not usually make it into your online basket. We will start with a wonderful white blend from Spain which is little known for its whites. We will then tackle the mercurial Gewürztraminer - which can be a bit of a “marmite wine”, however it should be on everyone’s radar and a few bottles in the cellar for the right occasion. Finally we head to the slopes of Mount Etna to showcase a grape that is little known yet produces some stunning mineral wines, in the right hands of talented wine makers.

Ticket price includes the three bottles, joining instructions and Zoom meeting link (this will be emailed prior to the event) and the subsequent 1-hr YouTube recording.

12: The Loire Valley

We have slowly been ticking off the regions of the world, and realised that we'd overlooked a corner of France that produces plenty of easy drinking as well as some seriously impressive whites beloved by many. However you will also find some little known rosés, as well as some fantastic and much coveted reds. We are of course talking about the Loire region.

Ticket price includes the three bottles, joining instructions and Zoom meeting link (this will be emailed prior to the event) and the subsequent 1-hr YouTube recording.
