Old Vintages of Chantal Rémy
Domaine Louis Remy (Chantal Remy since 2009) is the current iteration of ancient family holdings in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. Originally all held under the name Charles Remy, the vineyards of Philippe Remy were sold to DRC’s co-owner Lalou Bize-Leroy in 1988. In 2013, Chantal's son Florian totally took over the domaine. The winemaking remains commendably old school: A horse is employed in the vineyards, which are farmed with no chemicals at all and only a third new oak is used in the extended ageing process, before bottling without fining or filtration. The resultant wines are neither fleshy nor flashy, instead showing a nobility, poise and delicacy which is all too rare today.
