Quite surprisingly, the 2003 remains primary for the year, full-bodied and super intense. If opened today, the 2003 will benefit from at least an hour or two of air. " 93 pts, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
In 1863 Giacinto Brovia founded the Brovia estate in the village of Castiglione Falletto. With an uncompromising attitude to the selection of the finest vineyards in Langa, the Brovia family has been able to acquire great sites in the Barolo growing area: Rocche, Villero and Garbèt Suѐ in Castiglione Falletto, Ca’Mia and Brea in Serralunga d’Alba.

Their philosophy is to produce wines with great elegance and personality, Barolos that faithfully reflect the richness of their great Langa vineyards. The Brovias are extremely conscientious winegrowers and farm organically in every sense of that word (without being formally certified). The Baroli are aged for at least two years in 30 hectoliter barrels of Slavonian and French oak. The wines are then bottled without filtration and released to the market after an additional 18 to 24 months of bottle-aging.

"The deepest and darkest of these wines, the 2003 Barolo Brea Vigna Ca’ Mia shows the power and resonance of Serralunga. Iron, smoke, tar and dark red/black fruit all wrap around the palate with serious intensity. The 2003 is at the early part of what looks to be a long drinking window. Quite surprisingly, the 2003 remains primary for the year, full-bodied and super intense. If opened today, the 2003 will benefit from at least an hour or two of air. This is a rare 2003 Barolo that still needs time! Drinking Window: 2016-2028 " 93 pts, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
